2025 in review: lessons, achievements, and next steps
Health gain is the foundation of value; delivery, access, and experience add to it. That’s why novel devices matter - from on‑body injectors in multiple myeloma to minimally invasive tendon‑repair, the subject of the HORIZON grant TEN4CARE. This is why OHE is working on generating evidence on the value‑for‑money of these innovations, balancing clinical gains and patient experience against resource use. Another HORIZON grant, PREDICT‑FTD, aims to diagnose frontotemporal dementia earlier using liquid biomarkers and AI; OHE is building the value case for timely diagnosis, enabling better care strategies today and accelerating future treatments.
Our 2025 Wrapped webinar will reflect on the year in health economics, sharing insights from research, trends, and emerging challenges. On affordability more broadly, many novel health technologies are priced above the range, which is why during the last three years OHE has been exploring next‑generation pricing and payment models to balance access and sustainability, as partner in the HORIZON project HI‑PRIX.
This has been a record year for OHE - in grant‑funded awards, contract research won, hosting HESG in Brighton, launching the next chapter of the OHE Academy, alongside many other achievements. We’re genuinely grateful to our team, partners, and readers. Thank you for being part of the conversation.
Wishing everyone a restorative break and a healthy, hopeful 2026.
Smarter drug delivery for better patient and healthcare outcomes
Novel devices: optimising drug delivery in multiple myeloma
Subcutaneous biologics are transforming multiple myeloma care, but manual injections can still add to patient and healthcare burdens. On-Body Injectors (OBIs) offer a hands-free, patient-friendly solution, enabling high-volume, automated dosing while easing workflow pressures for healthcare teams. This report highlights how these devices can unlock the full value of biologics and support more efficient, sustainable care.
The OHE Academy has a new look to make learning smarter, simpler, and more inspiring. With a modern design, an expanded resource library, and updated programmes tailored to your needs, it’s easier to deepen your knowledge. Whether you’re starting out or building on your experience, the Academy supports your growth in health economics and evidence-based policy.
We’ll recap the biggest topics in health economics from 2025 across policy, prevention, and health technology assessments (HTA) and share predictions and themes that will define the year ahead. This is your chance to gain actionable insights and kick-start the year an insight into the biggest trends to come.
